Celeste:

I was diagnosed with a brain tumour 7 years ago. I was just 23 and while I had great support from my friends and family, I still felt very alone because I didn't know anyone my age with cancer. I was thrilled to discover The Warwick Foundation a few years later. This is an organisation specifically designed to support young adults with cancer and there was nothing of its kind around when I was first diagnosed. I think The Warwick Foundation has so much potential which is why I became a volunteer. I want to help build its profile so that as many people as possible can utilise the 'Mates in My Shoes' program and other initiatives.

Simone:

I joined The Warwick Foundation because I have always wanted to give back to my community in some way. I attended the first Gala dinner and was blown away at how well organised it was and what a fun night all the guests had. Having come from an event management background I knew exactly how much work was involved in putting the night together. I decided on the drive home that night that I wanted to be a part of this fantastic organisation.

My mum also recently passed away from complications due to cancer and although she was outside the The Warwick Foundation age group, it was apparent to me that support is needed regardless of your age, gender, colour etc. So to be a part of an organisation that is the first to pave the way in providing support to the 18-40 year old age group is very exciting.

Malin:

I work in events management and being a part of The Warwick Foundation has given me the chance to put some of my skills towards a fantastic cause. I believe The Warwick Foundation is making a positive difference in this world and I am proud to be able to help the wonderful team at the foundation.

Chris:

Cancer has touched us all. In all shapes and forms, we’ve all been affected by cancer in some way. Whether it be a friend, family member, partner, or yourself, cancer does not discriminate. After reading the truly disappointing statistics about cancer in young people through my dear friend Jade (GM The Warwick Foundation) I decided I wanted to be involved with The Warwick Foundation. Cancer amongst young people is the least recognised, and least acknowledged out of all demographics. Being in that demographic myself, I was truly moved when I heard there were so many people out there who were alone, and had little to no support.

The Warwick Foundation aims to provide a support network for people in this position, and when I think about family and friends of mine who have been through this journey, I knew there was no better cause for me to support and help raise awareness for.

The Warwick Foundation is doing amazing work and with the help of its supporters and the community, the future will only get brighter for young people with cancer and their families, on their cancer journey.

Belle:

I was 24 when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  I had no support and little information.  I don’t want others going though what I had too.  That is why supporting The Warwick Foundation and raising awareness is so important to me and vital for other “forgotten” young adults.

Amber:

It's my absolute pleasure to be a volunteer for The Warwick Foundation because it is supporting those who go overlooked. As a young adult myself, I feel that I should give as much as I can to help young adults who are currently fighting cancer, because I know that I would appreciate it incredibly so if someone was doing the same for me.

The Warwick Foundation is such a great organisation to volunteer for, as Jade comes up with memorable and fun ways to fundraise. There's nothing like having fun, while at the same time, raising funds for an important cause.

Luke:

I have chosen to help The Warwick Foundation not only because it is a wonderful cause which doesn't get the awareness that it deserves, but also because of the wonderful people behind the organisation. I have never met such an amazing group of people led by Samantha who care so much and have the drive to achieve all there goals. I urge everyone out there to jump on board and even if it is only a little thing do your part for The Warwick Foundation you will not regret it.

Without our volunteers we could not achieve all the work we set out to do. We rely on them heavily to continue our work supporting young adults with cancer around Australia so to all our volunteers - thank you!!
