Livestrong Alliance

Hi everyone,

We are pleased to announce that we are now officially a member organisation in the LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance.

The LIVESTRONG Young Adult Alliance is a coalition of organisations with the goal to improve the survival rates and quality of life for young adults with cancer between the ages of 15 and 40. The Alliance is committed to promoting research and the investigation of the problem, serving as a voice for the issue and promoting effective solutions.

Hi everyone,

Things are very busy here at TWF HQ and we are so excited about our upcoming events!

Our very first Get Spoilt event will be held on Thursday 29th July in Melbourne and we can't wait to pamper our female members!

We are currently planning a private movie screening of Wall Street 2 in Brisbane so all you Queenslanders look out for an invite in your inbox soon.

And top the year off our third annual 'In My Shoes Gala' is also coming up and will be at the Peninsula, Docklands on Friday 8th October.

Vodafone World Of Difference

Jade is a winner of the Vodafone Foundation Australia 'World of Difference' Program 2010!

Jade will take part in the program, now in its seventh year, that has already helped 24 graduates and financed over 47,000 hours of charity work.

The program is unique to Australia and remains the only community investment program in the country giving Australians the opportunity to work for their nominated charity, fully funded and supported for a year.

This is be a vauable resource in helping us in providing support young adults on their cancer journey.

An Alarming Statistic

Every hour a young adult is diagnosed with cancer in Australia. The survival rates for young adults with cancer has only improved by 1% in 30 years.

Whereas children and the elderly survival rates have improved by an average of 30% over 30 years.
